Which Car Would Be the Most Reliable Car for Me?

HI would love to get some advice about buying a used car, i am looking at a few and just wanted to know if anyone has any of these or has had a lot of problems with any of these cars. if so please tell me because i need something reliable & safe for myself and my son.

Here are some of the one's i have seen that have low milage and i like the look of.

seat ibiza 2002
seat cordoba 2001
toyota corolla
volkswagen polo (saloon)
volkswagen bora
nissan almera (saloon)

anyone know which i would be better going for, i need to get at least 2 years out of it but more importantly i need something safe.

Suggestion:

I would go for any of the VW's, preferrably diesel if you can get one. These are very reliable cars and very rarely need work done on them.

We had a W Plate Passat for almost 4 years and it only needed servicing and brakes in the time we had it, we replaced it with a Golf TDCi in May 08 and, our next one will probably be a VW too.
