Whats Wring with My Car? (with Video)?

when i try to start it, it try's to start then makes a light machine gun like sound,

the head lights do turn on. is the battery dead? or what could be wrong with the car. its a 2000 nissan maxima se.

if it is the battery, will jump starting it work?

Suggestion:

I believe you have a bad battery connection. You need to check the cables to make sure they have clean tight connections, probably at the battery, but check both ends.
