What Would Be the Most Reliable Car I Could Get for Under $6000?

I am going to be a sophomore in college and I need a new car because the transmission in my old car went out. Instead of fixing it (1987 Mercury Grand Marquis) we decided to just get a new one, since I was going to be getting a new one eventually anyway. The main thing is that it be reliable, get decent mileage and be cheap to fix. I plan on going to pharmacy school, so I would like this car to last me at least 5 years.
