Suggestion:
Subaru Impreza WRX. Fun, Fast, great gas mileage, All-Wheel Drive for snow, rain and everything in between. Absolutely amazing cars. I had one and loved it to death. You can get them in an automatic or stick shift too. They drive so well, handling is great. You can get a nicely equipped one for around $25,000 or even less!

If you don't need a family car i suggest you go to your nearest Hyundai dealer and check out the new Veloster, they give 40 mpg offer some pretty nice features and has a 10 years / 100,000 Miles guaranty.
