So I Keep Having Problems with My Car. One's in a While My Car Doesnt Want to Start All I Hear is Click Sound?

So my car ones in a while won't start. all i hear when trying to start my car is a clicking sound. So then my dad has to jump start my car then it works. But i took my battery to auto zone and they said my battery its fined. Then said maybe its started but i bought a new started for my honda accord 05. So i dont know what to do. I get paranoid of going to places cause i dont know if is not going to start.

Suggestion:

Have someone check and clean the battery connections and the Alternator connections.

If you drive many very short trips you are probably not making enough electricity to totally charge the battery.

If the battery is more than 4 years old then you probably need a new one. If it's the original battery then it's about 7 years old. Get a new one.

How did AutoZone test it? If they only measured the voltage with a meter then you did not get a good answer. It needs to have a heavy electric load placed on it while the voltage is being monitored. This will prove the battery good or bad.

Hi. I get the feeling you are 16 years old and this is your first car. Did I hit the target? First, some basics. Car batteries are 12 volts. Car alternators generate 14 volts. That keeps the battery charged and the car with enough electrical power. So, your dad jumped started your car and sent you on your way without finding out why the battery was down in power? Batteries have a life cycle. They last about 4 years with normal use. Some have caps on top so you can add distilled water inside each cell. Each cap is one cell. Some batteries are sealed and cannot be serviced this way. IF you have caps, check for low water level. BEWARE! There is acid inside the cells so if the liquid is low, add water carefully and do not overfill. Perhaps this will solve the problem. However,he clicking sound you hear is the starter motor's bendix attempting to turn the engine but does not have enough power. The reason is the battery. It may have tested OK but one or more of the cells is not producing enough power because it cannot hold power because it is worn out. OK? If you purchased a starter you should return it for credit. Go buy a new battery. BEst of luck.
