It seems like it's impossible to find a tow-yard that actually exists online in my town.
Can someone help me sell my car to a junk yard?

you would do best if you could get the car to the scrap yard yourself
ex: i had a van i needed gone i called some scrappers and all they would offer was $250/ $300 i called the scrap yard asked how much a ton for steel was, over 200 i called a tow truck and for $55 i had it towed there myself and got over $500 – the $55 tow fee
my advice is tow/drag/pull it there yourself
i miss my prelude 88/89
to claim it on/off your taxes you need more that just 1 write off its not worth it for normal 1040 ez person
i do not know where you are from but if it is ny you can take the vehicle to a junk yard called weises and get like 500$ depending on how much it ways either way they always pay a lot for vehicles and you didnt tell us what was wrong with it but if its a piece of crap and needs a lot of work then your best bet is junking it you get more out of it then selling it to someone. And here is a tip if some one contacts you on craigslist saying that they will buy your car for more than what you sold it for and that they will pay you via pay pal and have someone come and get it for them then ignore that person because they are trying to scam you
Donate it to a charity. There are a bunch of them out there that will take junk cars and give you a credit for it that you can use on your tax returns. You're better off doing this because you are helping some needy people out and gettin a tax credit for it. Check the Yellow pages for listed charities or look up something like kars for kids online.
