Scooters and Mopeds Are Great For the Environment
Electric bicycles are fun to ride and benefit the environment and sustainability of global economy. They are proven to deliver the highest possible energy efficiency, even likened to traditional pedal bikes. Electric bicycles also diminish air and noise pollution. While having a car has its benefits, electric bicycles is a much more affordable option.
So there are many benefits in owing either an electric moped, electric bicycle or gas powered scooter. If you are someone who cares about the amount of toxins polluting the air, either of these would make an excellent choice.
As the moped has less power than the classic motorbike, having a top speed of only 45mph for the 50cc models, their insurance is also more affordable to that of the classic motorbike. Prices of new motorbikes are far below the prices of cars, and you may find the solution of these financial troubles by selling your car and getting a motorbike to commute to work, you will feel like you have gotten a raise, and no more like a fool who burns ten litres of petrol per day just to get to work and back.
The Volt features all the accessories you would expect from a moped in this range – mirrors, headlights, taillights, blinkers and brake lights, keyed start, a horn, and an under-seat storage compartment and glove box. An odometer is included to let you know how far you’ve traveled, and a speedometer is also provided. A battery indicator is also provided to let you know how much charge you have left.
But what about the plethora of arguments in favor of bikes? Isn’t there something wrong with the balance? Bikes are cheaper to run, they use less fuel on average, they take up less space, are easier to park, less prone to severe congestion and more importantly they are BETTER FOR THE ENVIRONMENT. One person commuting daily to work on a standard commuter bike uses less fossil fuel and produces far less CO2 and does far less damage to Mother Earth than Mr Volvo or Mr Ford. Fact.
It’s about time our governments stopped spending money on pointing the finger at bikers and turned their attention to the appalling state of the Average Joe’s driving standard. For goodness sake spend the money on something else. Like truly decent public transport networks. London has one, New York has one (and lot’s of taxis), Nottingham’s isn’t bad, even Johannesburg is trying to make one. Let’s empty the roads of muppets and leave them for the people who ride or drive because they enjoy it. Because in a world full of ridiculous petty little rules it’s the one bit of freedom they have left – except for the sad escapism of dreadful TV or computer games.
