Rpm's/check Engine on My 1995 Saab 900se?

My check engine light came on a couple weeks ago and i hadnt got the chance to get it checked out due to my financial situation. Everything ran fine, it just seemed to run a little weaker than usual. Also ever since i owned the car in March, if i drove it alot in a short period of time, eventually the RPM's would start getting to low and the car would die. almost like a sensor telling it to keep running in neutral/clutch down wasnt working. This happened occasionally but wasnt that big of a deal to me.

Anyways today i was driving and it started to let the RPM's get low and the car would die, but then my car started just dying no matter how much gas i gave it…no matter how much gas i gave it the RPM's would just keep going down and the car would die…id let off the clutch and the car would 'jump start' or what ever you call the rolling/let off the clutch and it fires up (yes i dont know alot about cars, thats why im asking for your help)
What do you think it could be? Im looking for a good local mechanic in the asheville nc area but if i knew what it could be it might peed things along…

any ideas what it might be?

THANK YOU

Suggestion:

Without a code it is harder to diagnose. You need a tech II to get the diagnostic code.

Most likely causes are the throttle position sensor needs to be adjusted/replaced or the fuel pressure is too low (fuel pump).
