My Car Was Working Fine Yesterday then Without Warning It Died.?
No dashboard light warnings, smoke, or strange sounds. I got up last night to go to work and my dashboard wouldn't light up and my radio said error like the power had been reset. I have a 99 Acura CL. Now I jumped it for about 15 minutes, then the lights began to flicker but it won't start; it is making a clicking sound. I took the battery to Autozone and they said it was good 12.9 something volts. I want to have an idea of whats going on before I get it towed so I can make sure I will have the cash for whatever repairs need to be made. Any ideas?
Suggestion:
Did you put the battery back in? And everything is okay? I bet there was a loose connection at the battery, and now you've cleaned and tightened it, so… problem solved! The battery is charged up, so you know the alternator is working properly. If the starter still isn't getting proper amperage (causing it to "click") then there may be another connection that isn't tight. Trace the heavy cable to the starter and tighten all connections. But the symptoms (of the reset dash lights) shows that the problem was on the battery side of the starter solenoid, so I say you've fixed it already.
