Lawnmower Won't Start?

My dad has a Cub Cadet Series 2000 Rider Lawnmower and I have been mowing the lawn for him on it. Today, it wouldn't start, so I got a car jump starter and jumped it, and it worked. Then, later when I was still mowing, white smoke began pouring out of the front of the mower and it stalled. I tried restarting it, and it wouldn't start, even with the car jump starter. Please help?

Suggestion:

White smoke is usually from oil. Did you add oil to the engine when you started mowing? Check the oil with the dipstick and see if it is over the full mark. If it is drain some out. Now check the air filter for oil. If it has oil on the paper filter change it. Clean up any oil from the air filter area. You may have to put a teaspoon of gas in the sparkplug hole to get it to start.
