Is This a Normal Reaction to a Spouse Wanting a Divorce?

A wife tells her husband she wants a divorce and he doesn't really say much or ask why but instead tells her it's her fault that she cannot get over the things he's done to her, etc…tells her he will help her in any way he can and then remains silent for a while. I guess she changed her mind and tells him she wants to be with him, he says okay, he will be with her..and then he immediately starts a conversation about cars.lol Sounds to me like he doesn't really care if they divorce or not? I know people are different but if my spouse told me that he wanted a divorce I would be hurt, even after he changes his mind. I wouldn't jump to talking about divorce to something like cars..what do you think?

Suggestion:

Yea, it just sounds like he has a short attention span. I was hurt when I realized my marriage wasn't going to work.
