Is It Worth Getting a Car Alarm Fitted if It Already Has an Immobilzer Built In?

Im thinking about getting a car alarm fitted but it has an immobilzer on it already is it worth getting 1 and what is the best kind to buy.thanks

Answer:

depends on the type of alarm if you get a thatcham graded alarm fitted then yea its a good idea as it will lower your insurance even if its a diy alarm it will lower your insurance but not as significantly as a graded commercial product
hope this helped
if you decide to get an alarm fitted try to get one with sensitivity control and low draw current – ie it wont go off due to some idiot bumping into it as they walk past and wont drain the battery making it hard to start the next day

Depends on what you are worried about. If you think the car might be stolen by pulling it onto a trailer, or the wheels might be stolen when parked then an alarm would be good. If you are bothered by smash and grab theft of contents, or random vandalism then alarm won't make much difference. If you go the alarm route make sure it's fitted properly, most thieves can spot and disable DIY alarms

dont leave stuff in car in plain sight
keeps them from breaking it if there nothing to steal
car alarm doesnt stop that only warns you after they did it
a kill switch works better than alarm system does if you want to keep your car where you park it cant steal it if they cant crank it

-when was the last time you paid attention to a car alarm going off?save your money, and btw people who chirp and set em off are ******* annoying.
