Is Buying a Car That Needs an Ac Recharge Worth It?

I am looking to buy a used car, around 2500$, but it needs an AC recharge. Is it worth buying or will recharging be a constant issue?

Suggestion:

In theory an automotive AC system is a sealed unit, and should never need a re-charge. That is theory though!

What you don't know about this particular car is why it needs a charge. Something has leaked and if repairs are needed can cost upwards of $1500.00! If it needs a charge now, it will need one later as well.

If you are buying a two year old Escalade for $2500.00 with a non working AC, that may be a good deal.

If you are buying a 1988 Yugo with a non working (or working even) AC, that wouldn't be very smart!

You get the picture?
