I Have a 87 Isuzu Trooper That is Having Some Problems.?

It won't start on it's own but when I jump the battery it starts. I thought it was the battery at first but I got it checked and it was fine plus I can turn the lights on my car on and they don't dim down. I am now thinking it's the starter but the car doesn't make a grinding noise. When I go to start it on it's own it will not do anything, not one peep but then I'll jump start it and it will work until I shut it off again. Thanks in advance!

Suggestion:

When they checked your battery, did they also check your alternator.
If your alternator is good, check your connections, make sure they are clean and tight.

Logic tells you that if it starts with a jump, it's not the STARTer.
