How Much Would Having No Airbags Decrease the Value of a Car?
My chevy cavalier is valued at 2600 on KBB. I put it up on craigslist for that value :http://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/cto/2734549434.html … But it doesn't have airbags, how much would this decrease the price?
Suggestion:
Many cars(the majority) do not come with air bags. It is worth what the buyer is willing to pay for it.
Motor, the air bags cost a pretty penny to replace I would expect at least a thousand off the price offered. As a mechanic I would be looking the car over thoroughly for accident damage due to this as well.
The Cavalier is worth as much as someone is willing to pay for it,like anything else.The airbag situation may not mean very much to someone looking for a decent car in that low price range.It does make the car seem suspicious,as though it may be damaged.If the airbag light is on but they have not been deployed in a wreck, the system may need a minor fix.
Looking at the pictures, it appears that the airbag on the steering wheel is intact. I can't see the passenger one clearly in the pictures. Why do you say it has no airbags?
The cost of replacement airbags would mean that the car was worth a lot less, somewhere in the $800-$1000 range
if it came with airbags, it needs to be sold with airbags. its like federal law. if the person who buys your car gets into an accident, and they find out there were no airbags, you will be responsible for all the medical bills. just FYI.
