How Many Miles is Too Many When Buying a Used Car?
I am thinking about buying a used 2008 honda civic ex. The price is reasonable and it is the color and has all of the options I am looking for. The car fax is good and I had the car inspected it is in excellent condition. The only thing that makes me hesitate is it has 45,000 miles. Is that too many miles?
Suggestion:
The average mileage for a used car is 12-15k a year. This car is close to that. You have done all the right things to check it out. If you like it, buy it with confidence and enjoy many mile of driving. MY brother has one with 260K miles on it. My son has an Accord with 325k miles.

10,000-12,000 is ok. looks like a good car. negotiate a good price and it's a go
NO way, that's actually great!! Too many miles on a used car would be over 100,000 miles. But remember, most cars are built to last over 200,000 miles, epecially American and German cars.
45K is GREAT mileage for a used car! Especially a Honda Civic which tends to last a long time anyway.
What constitutes 'high' mileage depends on the make/model of the car and how well it is maintained. For most any normally maintained modern car, anything under 100K is alright.
Ha! 45k is nothing. My Cherokee Xj is at 255k and it's still running strong. I bought it when it had 185k. But that's only because I know Jeeps are beasts and they are meant to last for a long time. It hasn't given me any problems, but that's mostly due to the fact the previous owner took really good care of it. Theres really no such thing as too many miles as long as the car has been taken really good care of.
No that car is still in its early teens…even 150k isn't much on a newer vehicle if the previous owner maintained it properly (oil chgs, rotate, brakes, etc..)
Not at all 150,000 miles is alot
