Suggestion:
just keep the timing belt replaced on yours and it will last a lot longer . I had one that i had to replace the injectors at 380k and when i sold it it had 435k on it . it still ran good and didn't use any oil the only thing it had wrong was the ac compressor went out and it cost to much to fix. so i drove it with out an ac.
a replacement engine is hard to say how long it will last . if you put in a rebuilt engine (I recommend a jasper engine) it could last as long as the original engine if you take cake of it . If you by a junk yard engine it is a crap shot . it could have been abused badly and only last a few hundred miles or it might last 200k miles you never know.
if yours is running good and not using much oil take care of it and it will last a long time.

ken could be right
however, how long a replacement engine is going to last depends on what kind of shape the replacement was in when installed, and how good of care you give that engine
This is terrible idea because for the price of a complete engine replacement, you may as well buy a new car.
