How Can I Disable My Torque Converters Lock Up Function?

For whatever reason, on my 99 eclipse, when I shift into gear(drive or reverse) the torque converter locks up and stalls the car out. if I rev up to around 4k rpms, the car will jump forward, and once it gets going, I cannot stop, or it will stall. and when I start driving the car bucks. once I get to around 60, the converter locks and unlocks just fine so it's not stuck( I did the tap the brake test, and the converter unlocked)

what would cause it to do this? the tranny and converter are out of a 95 eclipse, but I've had them in the car for at least 6 months now, so I wouldn't think the 99 tcm is rejecting the tranny

Suggestion:

before you just start unplugging crap going this will work, go directly to a tranny shop. That may be a fixable problem as of now, like a loose connection. some transmissions will not work without a lock up converter, and burn up QUICKLY. since its clear you don't know what to do, take it to a shop, and get some more information, one way I have been getting free information for years, is to walk into a parts counter in a dealership, these guys are usually having a slow day, and you may be able to find out everything you need to know just by finding a parts guy who knows what you want to know. best of luck.if your converter locks up a slow speed, but works fine later, it is not a converter problem, put something is clearly wrong, and your solution to rev it up to 4 grand and bang it into gear BAD IDEA, ACE, GET THAT CAR TO THE SHOP ASAP BEFORE YOUR TRANNY GOES BANG TOO.
