Honda Odyssey Engine Problem Screeching Sound?

My Honda Odyssey is making a screeching sound when i start it. I can only start it when i jump start it from another car. I tried accelerating the other car while i jump start the odyssey and it didnt make a screeching sound. I dont know much about cars, so could it be a belt or alternator problem?

Suggestion:

I would say your alternator is bad and the pulley is freezing up causing the screech and not charging the battery.
