Help! My Car Battery is Dead?

I was cleaning my garage listening to the radio on my car for about 1/2 an hour and the battery seems to have died. Car wouldn't start. If I give it a rest might it start back up again? What do I do if it won't start?

Suggestion:

charge it

get new battery..if 1/2 hr radio killed it its dead for ever

Well maybe you could call someone that has jumper cables and they can come give your car a jump start. It's important that they know what they are doing when hooking up the cables too. So make sure they've done this before.

If the battery is 4years old or more, replace it, otherwise you need a battery charger or have someone jump the car

JUMP START THE CAR

You may have to dig a hole in your back yard to Bury it in . Or you can charge it With battery Charger but if its over 3 yrs old just buy a new one. Like you said leave it sit for 6 to 8 hours and make sure you turn off all the lights ,(radio) before trying to start it ,you may get lucky .

When you were listening to the radio did you have the key in the "ACC" position or the "ON" position. If you had it in the "ON" position, that turns everything on, including the fuel pump and ECU and kills the battery is just a little while, especially if the battery is a little old.

it might start back up again if you let it build back up. once it does start let it run for awhile to charge it back up. if it won,t start then you will need a jump or put the battery on a charger. listening to a radio like that you should start it up every 10 minutes to keep the battery charged. any time your listening to the radio make sure the key is on accessory position. if you turn it the other way where the dash lights come on you could damage the module.
