He's a very down to earth, reliable guy. I've known him for over a year and he's the only one who can make me laugh in a heart beat, even on the most depressing days. I want to give him something humorous or meaningful.
Please, no iPod, car, or cash suggestions. I'm not his mother or father, and I'm not in favor of spending a lot because money's extremely tight right now.

This is not as expensive as an iPod or car, but it still is a little pricy. For my boyfriend's birthday last year, i got a BUILD-A-BEAR, dressed it and then bought him his favorite sports team hat/baseball cap (usually 20-50$) and put it on the bear's head. he loved it!

for my birthday, like three of my best friends made me a big poster of for my room. they have known me forever, and they had pictures on it of us doing everything you could possibly, ranging from like, kindergarten through eighth grade. there were also a bunch of pictures of me being myself. laughing, and making funny faces, and being who I would be when I thought no one was looking or taking pictures. seeing myself and my friends being so innocent and carefree, and practically having a timeline of growing up together made me remember all the fun times and jokes and times we laughed until we cried or peed our pants. It made me smile, and feel like they truly cared about me and knew who i was.
i am only fourteen, and a girl, but I'm pretty sure something like that will make anyone feel good.
