Does the Temperature Affect the Performance of Car Batteries?

I find that it's hard to get the car started in winter, so I wonder if the temperature affects the perfermance of a car battery.

Suggestion:

no not really as long as you have a strong battery with several cold cranking amps. your battery is probably too weak for cold weather.

Hard starting when cold is the first warning sign for the most common type of battery failure. You can get the battery tested, and be prepared to replace it. The battery is not likley to last the winter.

yes in some areas. try to get a new one.

Yes, The cold is hard on a battery. If you are having trouble getting your car to start you may want to take it and have the battery checked it may have a dead cell. If so when it gets really cold it will fail.
