Can a Car Battery Like a Lithium Ion Battery Contain More Power for the Same Amount of Weight As Gasoline?

They say rockets using liquid oxygen and liquid hydrogen contain the most powerful fuel in existence, but how is this in comparison with batteries. Can they contain more power then natural fuels. Can car batteries contain more power then the gasoline they use? Thank you.
