Are Chrome Bulbs Against the Law in Your State?

You’re probably planning on adding chrome bulbs to your vehicle, but you’re not quite sure whether they’re legal or not. If you’ve read up on chrome bulbs on the internet, you’ll see that everybody says that they’re street legal, but then you may have heard that some of the items who claim to be DOT (Department of Transportation) Approved usually doesn’t mean squat when you get pulled over by the Police.

When it comes to modifying your vehicles with auto bulbs, it is illegal to run blue and red bulbs on your car. Unless your car is named KITT, you shouldn’t add red bulbs to the front of your vehicle. It is against the law. It’s mandatory that you have amber turn signals and running lights to your vehicle. This law applies in 50 states in the United States of America.

So will chrome bulbs meet the required guidelines to keep you out of trouble? Will you be pulled over if you have chrome bulbs installed? Always keep in mind that different states and countries do vary of certain modifications, but as long as your chrome bulbs shine amber when they’re on, you won’t have a problem with the law.

Stealth Auto has invented a chrome bulb that knocks the socks off of all the competitors. Stealth Auto Bulbs blend in with no hint of yellow in the bulb. One the turn signal is turned on, the bulb shines amber. Stealth Auto Bulbs are also approved by the DOT, but as I said before, this usually doesn’t mean a thing to the Police if you’re pulled over.

We also suggest checking the state auto laws and regulations in the state you’re in. If you live in the U.S., it’s advised to check for the information you need at DMV.ORG.

When it comes to other vehicle modifications, like HID Headlights, remember that the laws vary in each state.
