Correct Rotation
By rotating your tires around properly you will ensure that they wear evenly. Once a tire starts wearing incorrectly it will often be difficult to rectify this, so its important to pay particular attention to how they wear. Different cars will need different ways of rotating, so look around and find someone that you trust. At the end of the day though just look for good wear
Wheel Alignment
Not having the wheels aligned means that you will either chew out the inner or outer of your tires. This is costly, and can be avoided by a simple wheel alignment at your tire place every 10 000 kilometers or approximately every service of your vehicle
Wheel Balance
If you wheels are not balanced then the ride will be rougher and the rubber won’t wear properly. Again, a 10 minute stop at a tire place can have this fixed quickly.
Correct Tire Pressures
Many people forget to pump their tires up. The correct way to run your tires is based on the “4 PSI” rule, which you can Google for more information. Make sure that the tire wears evenly across the face; not too much on the outside or too much in the middle of each tire.
Careful Driving
Doing burnouts and going around corners quickly is a sure way to donate money to the tire companies. Drive carefully and smoothly and you will help your tires last much longer!
